The UDO Middle East Dance Festival IS BACK and hosted by UDO Dubai.
Alongside our Streetdance championships we will also be running Encore again this year:

ACADEMIC SCHOOLS SHOWCASE
The Academic Schools Showcase provides schools with an exciting opportunity to celebrate dance, creativity and performance on an international stage as part of the UDO Middle East Championships 2027.
This is a non-competitive category, designed to encourage participation, artistic expression and collaboration across a wide range of dance styles and abilities.
GENERAL INFORMATION
* Open to academic school dance groups across a variety of dance genres, including Street Dance, Commercial, Contemporary, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Ballet, Tap, Bollywood, Acro and other dance styles.
* Performances should be appropriate to the age and ability of participating students.
* Schools are encouraged to showcase original choreography and their own artistic identity.
* All participating schools will have the opportunity to perform as part of the UDO Middle East Championships.
* No judging scores, rankings or competitive placements will be awarded in this category.
PERFORMANCE FEEDBACK AVAILABLE
Performance Guidelines 2027
Schools are encouraged to consider the following five areas when preparing their performances.
1. VARIETY & STYLE
Demonstrate the character and qualities of the chosen dance style, incorporating a variety of movements and techniques appropriate to the age and experience of the performers.
2. MUSICALITY & CREATIVITY
Explore rhythm, musical phrasing, dynamics and creative interpretation. Schools are encouraged to demonstrate originality and individuality within their choreography.
3. CHOREOGRAPHY
Present a well-structured routine that incorporates effective use of space, formations, transitions and movement combinations, highlighting the strengths of the participating students.
4. PRESENTATION & PERFORMANCE
Encourage confidence, energy, expression and stage presence, with an emphasis on teamwork, commitment and enjoyment of performance.
5. OVERALL PERFORMANCE IMPACT
Create an engaging and memorable performance that celebrates the school’s creativity, identity and collective achievements.

The Academic Schools Showcase recognises the importance of dance in education, providing students with an opportunity to develop confidence, creativity, collaboration and performance skills within a supportive international dance environment.

- 1 vs 1 krump battles (U16 & O16). This will feature at the Middle east Festival only as Krump was not a style voted this year for worlds
- 2 vs 2 Battles - All styles (OPEN AGE) Top 4 qualify for worlds

- Please ensure that the tickets you order are all required as once ordered they are non-refundable
- If you decide to cancel after you have confirmed numbers, you will still need to pay for your tickets
- If you do require any further tickets, they can be bought on the day of the event as long as it is not a sell out
- The running order for the day will vary depending on the number of entrants registered for the event, we reserve the right to change the running order as and when necessary.
- All entries to dance need to be done online at least 7 days before the event – this entry is free.
- Please remember all dancers must be UDO Members - you can register for free UDO membership by clicking the MEMBERSHIP tab above
