What we're looking forward to in 2019

What an incredible year we had in 2018. The World Championships were our last to be held in Glasgow, and we kicked off our inaugural Asia-Pacific and North American Championships. We welcomed dancers to competitions all over the globe, bringing communities together through street dance.

Now that the excitement from the holidays has just about worn off, we’re finally done looking back on 2018: it’s time to start thinking about how we’re going to make 2019 bigger and better than ever before…

#BestofBritish
Our next Major Championship of the season will be here before anyone can say ‘it better not snow!’.
Yes, the UDO British Street Dance Championships 2019 will be back 15th-17th March, and we are offering more categories than ever before. At this Open Championship, you can compete and qualify for Europeans and for Worlds in solos, duos, quads, teams, SuperCrews, battles, and even Parent Teams!
British is always such a fun weekend for the whole dance family, and we can’t wait to watch the best of British battle it out to be crowned British Street Dance Champions 2019.
Could it be you? Find out more info here.

Bring on the Battles
British won’t be your only chance to compete and qualify in battles: we’ll be running battle qualifiers at Wiltshire, Lancashire, Southern, and South East UK Regionals, as well as Europeans.
You can compete in house, hip hop, locking, breaking, and popping, and we are raising the stakes for 2019. Over 16 battle winners will receive a whopping £1000 in prize money, with the under 16 winner being awarded the same amount in cash prizes.
What are you waiting for? Sign up for battles here.

Dancing to the Netherlands
Following an incredible experience in Kalkar last May for the 2018 UDO European Championships (where we saw over 20 countries across Europe bring their energy and passion), we’re heading to the Netherlands for 2019! This year will combine all the unforgettable memories of last year’s European Championships, in a whole different country and venue. Find out more here.

Back to Blackpool
We’re not sure we’ve quite mentioned this enough, but we’re really excited to be heading back to Blackpool.
Our first ever World Championships was held in Blackpool, way back in 2005. Since then, the dedication, passion, and sheer talent we’ve seen at every World Championships has only continued to grow. This year, Worlds is going to be huge. We are so excited to announce all of our plans for the biggest street dance event on the planet, and can’t wait to see what our dancers have in store for 2019! Do we really have to wait until August?
Make sure you don’t miss out on qualifying: find an event near you here.
